    Childcare Teacher Assistant

    TradeWinds Service, Inc, located in Merrillville, IN has a full-time position for a Childcare Teacher Assistant. Must be available Monday-Friday; 6:30 am- 6:00 pm (hours will vary)
    The Assistant Teacher is responsible for providing a developmentally appropriate early childhood education program that will foster language, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. The teacher will assist the Lead teacher in implementing creative curriculum, developmental screenings, daily child observations, completing daily classroom health and safety checks, diapering, potty training, feeding, organization of the classroom, participating in ongoing professional development, and staying up-to-date on the current required training (online and face to face), and participate in coaching. Training may occur during the day, after hours, or on Saturdays.

    Responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher with the full implementation and compliance of Paths to Quality, Indiana Early Childcare Licensing Regulations, and TradeWinds Services Policies and Procedures. Observe each child daily to assess skills on TS Gold. Establish a positive relationship with each child’s family and share information about the child’s day at the Center.

    Education Requirements: Minimum CDA, will consider applicants enrolled in a CDA program or higher educational program, Preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education; Experience preferred. Must be able to pass drug screens and background checks.
