    Summary:  The Security Engineer is responsible for delivering and managing security infrastructure solutions to support enterprise application systems and core infrastructure.  As the Security Engineer, you will play a mission critical role in the design and monitoring of the infrastructure that powers Centier’s reliability.  In this role, you will work to ensure our services, tooling, environment, and systems are following the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability triad.  We’re looking for someone who can exhibit forward systems thinking and passion for producing world-class technology and security. The role will require the understanding of the enterprise architecture from end-to-end. Must be able to perform root cause analysis and solve complex security problems.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information
    • Identify and define system security requirements
    • Work with internal clients such as Technical Solutions and Information Security Officer to ensure systems are securely configured, monitored in pre-production and production.
    • Stay up to date with latest security technology and trends
    • Perform regular audits and provide reports
    • Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
    • Manage systems lifecycle supporting and facilitating testing with infrastructure and applications teams
    • Other duties as assigned

    Other Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Understands and advocates DR Program strategy while executing activities with IT teams
    • Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
    • Off hours availability required for on-call rotation and planned maintenance procedures
    • Practice continuous improvement by identifying single points of failure or unnecessary redundancies.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools required
    • Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, and content filtering required
    • Experience with enterprise backup and patch management systems preferred
    • Knowledge of disaster recovery, computer forensic tools, technologies and methods preferred

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field required
    • 2+ years’ experience in a Security or similar role
    • 3+ years’ experience in an Infrastructure or similar role
    • Knowledge of networking protocols
    • Basic scripting knowledge
    • Certifications from Microsoft and/or Cisco are preferred
