    Job Description

    The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales and service throughout the assigned retail delivery area by insuring proper training and product knowledge and leadership; to insure accuracy and efficiency within the branches of the assigned area; and to meet goals of the assigned retail delivery area through developing relationships with both personal and business members   Employees are expected to adhere to all rules and regulations applicable to the position. Must comply with all SAFE Act regulation procedures.

    Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

    • Sales and Service Leadership
      • Develop and allocate monthly sales goals for assigned retail delivery area
      • Achieve monthly production goals
      • Regularly coach, mentor, manage and develop sales teams
      • Regularly monitor sales production reports for effectiveness and areas of opportunity
      • Effectively utilize all branch resources and staff to meet production goals
      • Create a professional environment focused on superior member service
      • Work with retail leadership in preparing and reviewing budget throughout the year
    • Business Development
      • Develop new credit union relationships (SEGs) within market areas
      • Coordinate site visits which focus on acquiring new members and expanding existing member relationships
      • Deliver and develop presentations in collaboration with Marketing and credit counselors
      • Communicate promotions and advertising to community business partners by identifying opportunities in organizational newsletters, orientations, and portals
    • Operational Effectiveness
      • Lead Retail Delivery staff in service excellence by ensuring all are well trained and knowledgeable on all Purdue Federal systems, products and services
      • Ensure all retail delivery staff are adhering to all policies, procedures and regulations to protect the assets or our members and the credit union
      • Provide feedback to management on member impact issues, system/process inefficiencies and product and service deficiencies and pricing
      • Create working relationships with support departments for enhanced service to members and staff

     

    Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Management, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education/experience
    • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in the financial industry, customer service, sales and supervision
    • Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, in a professional manner when dealing with employees, members, vendors and company contacts
    • Experience collaborating across teams/departments
    • Strategic thinking skills and ability to problem solve quickly
    • Capable of managing and prioritizing a multitude of tasks
    • Competent computer skills
    • Ability to follow the core values of honesty, integrity, mutual respect, pride and ownership

     

    Work Environment/Physical Demands:

    • This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phone, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
    • This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets
    • This position requires sitting, bending, stooping or standing as necessary
